Competition Uniform - Rider

RIDER

Club Shirt, Tie and Jumper/Vest - White long sleeved shirt with collar, tucked into your riding pants.  Dark Green tie.  Club Formal Jumper or Vest.

White/Beige/Fawn/Bone Jodhpurs or Moleskin trousers - No Logos or decorative embroidery/stitching. No ribing or coloured strips along seams and socks are not permitted to be worn over jodhpurs.

Riding Boots - English style short or long in black or brown with smooth sole and square cut heel. Chaps matching the colour of the boot can be worn but Suede/Felt/Velvet/Polyester Chaps are NOT permitted.  Jodhpur clips may be used. Ensure the fit of the boot in the stirrup iron meets Gear Check rules.

Helmets and Rider Hair - Helmets must meet the required Standard - Gear Check rules and be properly fitted and fastened.  Rider hair must be above shoulder, plaited and restrained (preferably in a hair net).

Jewellery / Earrings / Piercings /Rings / Necklaces / Bracelets - Studs no more than 5mm in diameter are permitted.  Any studs, earrings, piercings larger than 5mm must be removed.  Rings can be worn under gloves or taped. Necklaces and bracelets must be removed. Medic-alert bracelets can be taped.

Badge and Disc - If you have successfully completed a Pony Club Certificate please affix this to your Jumper/Vest at the point of the V.

Body Protector/Medical Arm Band/Number Holder - if you wish to compete in XC  you will need to have a Body Protector that fits correctly, a Medical Arm Band (left arm) and a Rider Number Holder.

Saddlery / Tack -   Please refer to the Pony Club WA Gear Checking Rules for a complete listing of what is and is not permitted specific to the Competition you are entering.  The following is simplified and general.

  1. Bridle / Bridle Number - Must fit and stitching must be in tact and safe. It is preferable to have a Bridle number on both sides of the horse/pony, either attached to the bridle or attached to the saddle blanket.
  2. Saddle Blanket - Club saddle blanket or a white saddle blanket without large logos or decorative enhancements. Club Representatives at State Competitions will be provided with a Club Competition saddle blanket for the event which must be cleaned and returned to the Club.
  3. Helmet Cover - can be used but must be the Club Helmet Cover.  Variations or other colours/pompoms are not permitted.
